The caddis fly may or may not be the most important insect, but by far the most productive. As a general rule, the size range isn't critical, and it isn't necessary to go too small to be successful. Slightly larger flies will handle more weight and deliver more depth. Suspend them under a dry, high stick them deep in pocket water, indicator fish them shallow or deep and best of all, swing them at the risk of breaking off a huge trout, don't worry, we have plenty.
