HISTORY LESSON

Captain Rob's affinity for the water and fishing goes back generations. His great great grandfather was a steamship captain on the Mississippi River. His grandfather was an avid boatman and angler who fly-fished the waters from Canada to the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. His father loved sailing, boating and fishing and was a leader in the efforts of the United States Power Squadron to teach safe boating in Southwest Florida.

Captain Rob began fishing at the ripe old age of 6. He learned how to sail and handle a powerboat shortly after that and fifty years later he's still at it! He's fished the flats and bays of Florida from Clearwater to Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys. But the place he truly loves to wet a line is Southwest Florida, from Pine Island Sound to the Ten Thousand Islands.

"The diversity of life here both below and above the water is fantastic. While each area of Southern Florida has something special to offer, I still keep coming back to this place. These islands and the water around them feel like home."  - Capt. Rob
